Job Title: Family Development Specialist - Fatherhood Program Job Type: 32 hours per week Salary Range: $18.54 - $19.83 per hour Location: 100 1st Street NW, Mason City, IA 50401 About Us: Join North Iowa Community Action Organization (NICAO), where we are dedicated to creating positive change in the lives of individuals and families throughout North Iowa. We are looking for a compassionate, motivated individual to join our Fatherhood Program and help support families in building strong foundations and achieving greater self-sufficiency. Position Overview: The Family Development Specialist will work directly with individuals and families to identify strengths, overcome barriers, and connect them with resources that support positive parenting, family stability, and self-sufficiency. This position provides individualized support through home and office visits, community referrals, goal setting, and ongoing follow-up while helping families build the skills and resources needed to thrive. Responsibilities: -Meet with individuals and families to assess strengths, identify barriers, and help connect them with needed resources and services. -Provide guidance and support to families in areas such as positive parenting, family relationships, and economic self-sufficiency. -Conduct client interviews and meetings in home and office settings. -Connect clients with community resources and follow up to ensure their needs are being addressed. -Maintain accurate client records, complete required reports, and uphold confidentiality at all times. -Represent NICAO through community and interagency activities. Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. -Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. -Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of a team. -Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. -Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and other computer applications. -Reliable transportation, adequate insurance, and a valid driver's license. -Ability to complete required certifications and trainings, including Family Development Specialist Certification.
