Marketing Business Unit Liaison

The Marketing Business Unit Liaison acts as the primary bridge between the central Marketing department and specific business units (e.g., Sales, Services, Parts, Finance). This role is critical and ensuring that marketing strategies and campaigns are effectively aligned with the unique objectives, challenges, and needs of each business unit. The Liaison will translate business unit requirements into actionable marketing plans, facilitate seamless communication, and ensure consistent brand messaging and lead generation efforts across all customer touchpoints within the respective units.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates closely with leadership and key stakeholders within assigned business units to understand their goals, priorities, and specific marketing needs.
  • Translates business unit objectives into actionable marketing briefs and campaigns, ensuring alignment with overall dealership marketing strategy.
  • Participate in business unit planning meetings to provide marketing insights and integrate marketing efforts into their operational calendars.
  • Identifies opportunities for marketing to support business unit growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for marketing-related inquiries and requests from the assigned business units.
  • Facilitates regular communication between business unit teams and the Marketing department, ensuring information flows efficiently in both directions.
  • Educates business unit teams on current marketing initiatives, tools, and best practices.
  • Gathers feedback from business units on marketing campaign effectiveness and customer sentiment.
  • Works with the Marketing Coordinator and other marketing team members to ensure business unit-specific marketing materials and campaigns are developed and executed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity are maintained across all business unit-specific marketing touchpoints (e.g., in-store signage, service menus, financing promotions).
  • Assists business units in utilizing marketing resources effectively to achieve their specific targets (e.g., lead generation for sales, appointment bookings for service).
  • Monitors and analyzes the performance of marketing activities relevant to the assigned business units, providing tailored reports and insights to their leadership.
  • Identifies areas for optimization and provides recommendations to both the Marketing department and the business units.
  • Tracks business unit-specific KPIs influenced by marketing efforts.
  • Stays informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences relevant to the assigned business units.
  • Shares insights with both the Marketing team and business unit leadership to inform strategic decisions.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides) and data analysis.
  • Deep understanding of dealership operations (Sales, Service, Parts, Finance) is highly desirable.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in marketing or a client-facing role, with a strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience within the automotive industry or a multi-departmental retail environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
