The Nightmare Haunted Hike is Clear Lake’s premier haunted attraction, offering spine-tingling thrills every October. Located at 2532 South Shore Drive, this outdoor haunted experience transforms the woods into a dark and twisted trail filled with terrifying scenes, massive props, and unexpected scares at every turn. Each season, new sets and characters are introduced to keep the experience fresh and unforgettable for both first-time visitors and returning fans.
Open Friday and Saturday nights in October 2025, plus Halloween night and November 1, the Haunted Hike is one of North Iowa’s most popular Halloween events. From adrenaline junkies to casual thrill seekers, guests of all ages* come to test their nerves and enjoy the rush of a good scare.
The Monster Eats food truck is on-site each weekend, offering tasty bites before or after you brave the hike. Whether you’re looking for a fun group outing, a seasonal tradition, or one of the top haunted attractions in Iowa, The Nightmare Haunted Hike delivers.
