About Us

The Stockman House is a historic home in Mason City designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1908. It?s an example of his Prairie School style and one of his ?Fireproof House? designs featuring an open, efficient floor plan, horizontal lines, and distinctive elements like cantilevered roofs and a broad veranda.

Originally built for a local family, the house was later saved from demolition, moved, and restored by preservationists. Today, it operates as a public museum offering guided tours and serves as a key part of Mason City?s architectural heritage.
