Crisis Intervention Service (CIS) is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Victim Advocate to provide direct support to survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and other violent crimes. This full-time position plays a vital role in empowering victims and connecting them with essential resources tailored to their local communities. Advocates serve designated counties and may work across the broader CIS service area, collaborating closely with a supportive team of professionals. Key Responsibilities Deliver trauma-informed, victim-centered services to primary and secondary victims Establish and maintain county-specific resource networks and community partnerships Respond to crisis situations through a structured on-call system, including evenings and weekends Prepare communities to respond effectively to victim needs through outreach and education Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation in compliance with Iowa Code Chapter 915.20d Qualifications Empathetic, non-judgmental approach with a focus on victim self-determination and empowerment Education or experience in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or related fields preferred Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to a reliable, insured personal vehicle Why Join CIS?
