Iowa housed about 25,000 prisoners of war from 1943 to 1946, during World War II. Algona and Clarinda were the main camps, each housing about 3,000 POWs. There were about 17 branch camps in Iowa where the prisoners spent shorter periods of time working on specific projects. Linda was able to speak with people who knew or worked with the POWs and shares their memories. Presented by Linda Mccann
