An Exhibition of the work of Internationally Known Wildlife Artist Maynard Reece. Maynard Reece combines a love of nature and a talent for art, which together have made him America's foremost wildlife artist. The only five-time winner of the Federal Duck Stamp competition and America?s most distinguished painter of waterfowl and game birds. In 1998, Maynard Reece, who says he was born about 100 yards from being a duck, was honored by the Iowa National Heritage Foundation, which named a wetland restoration project near Algona in his honor. He has been associated with duck stamp programs for over 40 years; and the success of his 1972 First of Iowa Duck Stamp remains the benchmark by which other programs are measured. Other than an exhibit last Fall in Ames this is the only time the work of Maynard Reece has been exhibited in a gallery type setting.
