The Presenter: Meet Brian Gillette
Brian Gillette has enjoyed an 18-year career as a recognized leader in the health benefits industry in the Midwest. Brian spent 13 years at Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa in various leadership roles including Product Development, Network Management, and Sales. As the Director of Individual and Small Group Sales at Wellmark, Brian led Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s sales efforts for market segments over 500,000 individual purchasers and over 10,000 small groups (2-100 employees).  In 2007, Brian became part owner of Group Benefits, Ltd. where he currently provides strategic direction and runs operations for over 35 employees.

An accomplished writer and speaker, Brian has been published multiple times about healthcare costs and the Affordable Care Act. Brian has also given over 100 seminars to business owners throughout the Midwest about the ACA and smart strategies businesses are using to manage costs.

Brian is an active member of NAIFA and currently chairs the Health Care Legislation Committee in Iowa. Brian also serves on a coalition of industry leaders in Iowa who draft legislation designed to encourage a more efficient healthcare delivery system.
