Bright Blooms: A Kids Flower Painting Workshop at the Clear Lake Arts Center

In this fun and engaging workshop, young artists will learn how to draw and paint a vibrant pansy. Artist Jess Quinn will guide students step-by-step, beginning with simple drawing techniques to sketch their flower and then adding color using acrylic paint. Students will explore the unique shapes and patterns found in pansy petals while learning basic painting techniques such as color layering, brush control, and adding details that bring their flower to life. Inspiration sheets featuring different varieties and color combinations of pansies will be provided so each student can create their own unique painting. This class is designed to be approachable for beginners while still allowing room for creativity and personal expression. By the end of the workshop, each student will leave with a finished floral painting and a new understanding of how artists build a painting from drawing to color. Ages: 7–12
