DESCRIPTION:10:0am-12:00pm The Six Principals of IDEA\n\n12:00-1:00pm Lunch\n\n1:00-3:30pm IEP on IEPs\n\n\n\nThe Six Principals of IDEA (Individuals with Disability Education Act) workshop is designed as an introduction of the underlying principals of the law.  Participants will increase their understanding of:\n\nThe basic concepts of IDEA\n\nThe rights of parents and students in the IEP process\n\nHow to effectively advocate for your child\n\nOptions available when you disagree with your IEP team\n\n\n\nThe second workshop\, IEP (Information Especially for Parents) on IEPs (Individual Education Plan) increases the understanding of participants between the IDEA principles and the actual process of writing your child's IEP document. We recommend attendees have basic knowledge of\, or have attended\, the Six Principals of IDEA. Participants will increase their understanding of:\n\nHow the IEP team members interact with each other\n\nHow a team makes decisions\n\nHow to advocate and reach agreement about your child's program\n\n\n\nLunch & child care provided. Anyone is welcome but registration is required.
