DESCRIPTION:This session focuses on individuals developing a song(s) for a performance. Each student will receive six private 30 minute lessons with Nicki Barragy. During those sessions areas such as vocalizing\, stage presence\, memorization\, choreography\, interpretation\, showmanship and costuming will be discussed and practiced. Participants need to bring 1 or 2 songs which contain the accompaniment with and without the lyrics on a cd or iPod/mp3/iPad device to their first scheduled lesson. At the end of the six lessons\, participants will perform their prepared songs Wednesday at Open Mic Night beginning at 6pm in the Cypress Room (Lounge). Class size is limited to 6 students per session. Ages: 1st-12th grade Session 1: June 9-12\, 16-17\, performing June 17 at Open Mic Night Session 2: June 23-26\, 30-July 1 performing July 1 at Open Mic Night Time 9am-12noon\; during this block\, each student receives a 30-minute lesson Fee $30 Instructor: Nicki Barragy\, Surf Ballroom & Museum Education Coordinator nicki@surfballroom.com
