DESCRIPTION:Courtesy of a generous anonymous donor\, this concert will be free and open to the public. Free-will donations to local/area human services organizations are encouraged and will be accepted at the door. A few suggestions are listed at the bottom of this page.\n\nFounded in March of 2005\, the Jazz Coalition Big Band contains some of North Iowa's finest jazz musicians. Performing from their regular home of Mulligan's Bar and Grill in Mason City\, the band has developed a large following of jazz aficionados as well as fans exposed to jazz for the first time. With a performance library culled from the books of Count Basie\, Buddy Rich\, Oliver Nelson\, Thad Jones\, Duke Ellington\, Quincy Jones\, and others\, the band seeks to expose music lovers to the finest big band jazz available. A priority for the band is to provide live jazz performances accessible to area students\, so that the rich history of jazz will continue.\n\nFree-will monetary or food donations accepted at the door.\n\nDuring this season of giving\, we urge you to help your fellow north Iowans in need with a financial gift or your volunteer time to one of our many area organizations that provide critical support.
