SUMMARY:Child Abuse Awareness Activities
DESCRIPTION:April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and the North Iowa Child Abuse Prevention Council has the following events planned to bring public awareness in an effort for our community to work together to prevent child abuse and neglect.\n\n\n\nApril 19th:\n\n6:30-7:30pm: Community Room at City Hall\n\nColoring activity for children. Color Contest Display (winners will be displayed on\n\n4/20/13)\n\n\n\nShaken Baby Syndrome demonstration\n\n\n\nGourmet cupcakes from Sweet Tooth Cupcakes\n\n\n\n7:30pm: Awareness Walk (from City Hall to City Park)\n\n\n\nCommunity will stop to tie blue ribbons on the trees in City Park.\n\n\n\n7:45pm: Seawall\n\nReleasing of BLUE lanterns over Clear Lake in remembrance of those children whom left this world too early as a result of child abuse or neglect.\n\n\n\nApril 20th\n\n\n\n9-11am: Clear Lake Fire Station\n\nContinental breakfast donated by United Way\n\n\n\nColoring contest winners displayed\n\nColoring activities for children\n\nKIDS ID Kits - fingerprinting and identification\n\n\n\nSpecial appearances from Mickey Mouse\, Spiderman\, and SpongeBob SquarePants courtesy of Love and Luck Entertainment.\n\n\n\nTours of the Fire Station and Fire Museum\n\n\n\n10:00am: Central Gardens\n\nPinwheels for Prevention. Community is invited to come and place pinwheels in the ground at Central Gardens as a symbol of hope that we can work together as a community to prevent Child Abuse and Neglect.
