Technology & Systems Manager
Cabin Coffee Co. | Clear Lake, Iowa | Full-Time | Hybrid
Position Overview
Cabin Coffee Co. is seeking a Technology & Systems Manager to take ownership of the technology systems that support our corporate and franchise locations.
This is a technology coordination, systems management, and support role—not a software development or coding position.Cabin Coffee partners with outside technology providers for many of our major platforms. The Technology & Systems Manager will serve as the primary connection between those partners, our company, and our store and franchise teams.
We are looking for someone who is naturally comfortable with technology, enjoys solving problems, communicates well, and takes ownership of an issue from the moment it is identified until it is resolved.
This position offers significant autonomy. We care more about getting the job done well than watching the clock, and we're looking for someone who thrives with that level of trust and responsibility.
What You'll Do

  • Serve as Cabin Coffee's primary internal resource for technology-related questions, issues, and projects.
  • Coordinate and communicate with technology partners supporting our point-of-sale (POS), online ordering, mobile app, payment processing, loyalty, training, and other technology platforms.
  • Provide first-level troubleshooting for store technology issues and determine when an issue should be escalated to an outside technology partner.
  • Assist corporate stores and franchisees with POS systems, computers, tablets, printers, internet connectivity, networking equipment, and other in-store technology.
  • Own technology issues through resolution, coordinating between stores, vendors, franchisees, and company leadership as needed.
  • Coordinate system updates, installations, equipment replacements, software changes, and technology rollouts.
  • Test and review system changes to identify potential operational or customer-facing issues before and during implementation.
  • Manage and maintain Cabin Coffee's company intranet and employee training platform.
  • Keep training materials, policies, procedures, technology resources, and other important information accurate, organized, and accessible.
  • Maintain documentation of technology systems, equipment, processes, vendor contacts, troubleshooting procedures, and system configurations.
  • Assist with onboarding new stores, employees, and franchisees into applicable technology systems.
  • Work directly with technology vendors to identify and resolve recurring problems and advocate for the needs of our stores and franchisees.
  • Help evaluate new technology, equipment, services, and vendors as business needs evolve.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, reporting, store operations, and the customer experience through technology.
  • Serve as the technology liaison between company leadership, operations, franchisees, store teams, and outside partners.
What We're Looking For
You do not need to be a programmer, software developer, or network engineer to be successful in this position.
We are looking for someone who understands technology, learns quickly, enjoys troubleshooting, communicates effectively, and isn't afraid to dig into an unfamiliar problem.
The right person will be someone who can hear, "This isn't working," figure out what is actually happening, determine who needs to be involved, and stay with the problem until it's solved.
Preferred qualifications include:
  • Strong general understanding of computers, software, internet connectivity, networking, and business technology.
  • Experience supporting or administering business technology, POS systems, SaaS platforms, or similar systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to people with different levels of technical knowledge.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors, projects, issues, and priorities.
  • Strong follow-through and a willingness to take ownership.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, managers, franchise owners, vendors, and company leadership.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technology and systems.
  • Experience in restaurant, retail, hospitality, franchise, or multi-location operations is a plus.
  • Experience with POS systems, online ordering, mobile apps, loyalty programs, learning-management systems, or company intranets is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year, depending on experience
Cabin Coffee believes great work happens when people are trusted, supported, and given the flexibility and resources to do their jobs well.
Our benefits include:
  • 3% SIMPLE IRA company match
  • Two weeks of paid time off upon hire, increasing to three weeks after one year
  • Approximately 8–10 paid holidays annually
  • Hybrid work schedule with the ability to work from home when appropriate
  • Flexible start and end times — we're focused on results and getting the job done, not simply hours spent at a desk
  • $100 monthly phone allowance
  • Performance bonus eligibility
  • Company-provided computer, technology, and equipment required for the position
  • Company vehicle available for approved business travel
  • Overnight/travel compensation when applicable
  • Complimentary food and Cabin Coffee beverages while working
  • 25% employee and immediate-family discount at Cabin Coffee
  • Company-supported professional development, including relevant training, conferences, and certifications with approval
  • Casual dress and work environment
  • Direct access to company leadership and the opportunity to influence technology decisions across the organization
Schedule & Work Environment
This is primarily a Monday–Friday position based out of Cabin Coffee's downtown Clear Lake offices with a hybrid work schedule.
Because our coffee shops operate outside traditional office hours, there may occasionally be technology issues that require attention outside the normal workday. This position is expected to help coordinate those situations when necessary, but the overall work environment emphasizes flexibility, autonomy, and results rather than rigid office hours.
Occasional travel to Cabin Coffee locations, vendor meetings, conferences, or training may be required. A company vehicle is available for approved business travel.
What Success Looks Like
Success means our stores know who to call when they have a technology problem—and know that person will help get it resolved.
Technology issues are identified, communicated, tracked, and resolved efficiently. Vendors are held accountable. Systems and documentation stay organized. Store teams and franchisees have the resources they need. New technology is implemented thoughtfully and effectively.
Most importantly, technology should make operating a Cabin Coffee location and serving our customers easier, not more complicated.
Why Cabin Coffee?
This isn't a position where you'll spend your day buried in a corporate IT ticket queue.
You'll work directly with company leadership, franchise owners, store teams, and technology partners. You'll have significant ownership of your area, the freedom to recommend improvements, and the ability to see the real-world impact of the systems and solutions you help put in place.
We're looking for someone who wants more than a list of tickets to close. We want someone who sees a problem, takes ownership of it, finds the right solution, and looks for ways to make the system better the next time.
If you're someone who enjoys technology, likes solving problems, values autonomy and flexibility, and wants the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across an organization, we'd like to hear from you.
