They gained financial, legal and personal independence. These changes, usually due to changing individual circumstances, required them to move out of the home to become landowners, business women, entrepreneurs, etc. Women began to take charge of their own destinies. Does that sound familiar in today’s world? Learn how they did it—way back then.
