Central Gardens Fresh on Friday
Fresh on Friday begins another exciting season June 5th with some fun new additions! Every Friday in June, July and August, these activities can be enjoyed amidst the ever changing beauty of Central Gardens in Clear Lake. Come relax, enjoy, learn and share! Young and old, the garden is a place of interest to all!
8:00a.m.-11:00a.m. Relax and Refresh! Coffee, infused water and seasonal goodies served on the patio of the Nature Education Pavilion. Spend time dreaming and learning with our browsing library. Kids books too!
8:00a.m.-11:00a.m. Bouquets! This summer the bouquets will feature some unexpected additions, such as herbs, twigs and even veggies! Learn what goes into designing a beautiful and long lasting arrangement.
9:30a.m.-11:00a.m. Bee Happy! Kids, bring an adult and explore the Bee Happy Kids garden where plantings were designed with kids and pollinators in mind. We will help guide kids through the steps necessary to care for a garden, such as weeding, watering, mulching and observation! Learn how to help our pollinators! Watch the garden grow and taste it along the way!
*10:00a.m.-10:45a.m. Take Time at Ten! Learn, do or create something new! Inspired by a different talented person each week, you may experience how to: eat a rainbow, build a worm bin, plant a shade garden, benefit from yoga, make herbal vinegars, support pollinators in your own garden and many more!
10:45a.m. Friday’s Find! Each week our friends at the Opportunity Village General Store will keep an eye out for something unique which can be repurposed into holding a bouquet. At the conclusion of Take time at Ten, a lucky winner will get to take this repurposed object home for free!
Fresh on Friday volunteers are excited to help make the garden your home every Friday morning! Follow us on Facebook (Central Gardens of North Iowa)for weekly updates!
