A Little History: In 2002, the Arts Center opened the doors to their first storefront in downtown Clear Lake (213 Main Ave, across from City Park). The property was owned by the city and awaiting redevelopment. The retail space started as an artist’s coop that maintained an office for the Clear Lake Arts Council. It was at this time that the name the Clear Lake Arts Center was first used. A part time executive director was hired, and the development of an Arts Education Program began. In 2005, the City owned property neared demolition, leading to the search for a new home, which we found at 17 South 4th Street. Reconstruction and additions of the 35-year-old bank building were completed in March of 2007.
