Join Marlys Ebaugh as she demonstrates making her beautiful jewerly.
Artist Statement: I like the idea of framing beautiful little bits of nature in the hope that Mother Earth will receive the appreciation she deserves. I have to admit I like some sparkle, too; it's hard to resist Swarovski Crystal's and CZs. Copper is the perfect metal for wire-weaving and sculpture. It's so well behaved. It hardens when you want it to harden and doesn't empty your pocketbook so fast. I use various forms of silver and other metals when they seem more suitable for the stone or design.
There are many artist teachers who share inspiration and skill building tutorials. Some of my favorites are Nicole Hanna, Julie Hulick, and Oxana Crafts on YouTube. There's a natural translation of the teachings with each unique stone or stones you choose to frame. The variations are endless. That's good for me because I don't like doing the same thing over and over.
